César Gómez

   Biography

Colombian, Biology student. Falconer and lover of the wild life. Born in the city of Pereira, department of Risaralda,Colombia, July 28 1985. From very short age it showed great interest for the animals especially for the predators and it was in the primary education where he met the birds of prey and adopted them as their favorite species. Then in the secondary he was seduced by a beautiful art the falconry which brought him near to those beautiful animals and with the time and the acquired experiences he decided studying Biology and it has been from then the biological investigation the one that occupies his life completely and without doubt, birds of prey brought him near to the zoological world in general. At the moment the forest eagles and the strange neotropical falcons they are who occupy their attention....

   Research Interests

The objective of the investigation is to establish a database of the migratory predators in Colombia and south america. Other topics that I would like to investigate are the distribution and abundance of endemic raptors, human impacts on raptor populations and movement ecology of Neotropical raptors. I also want to investigate aspects like the reproductive ecology and the distribution of several raptors of the neotropical forest.
