Richard Seaton

   Biography

I am an ornithologist with specific interests in raptor biology. I have recently completed my PhD on "the ecological requirements of New Zealand falcon on plantation forests" and am now working as an ecological consultant for Golder Associates in New Zealand. As a consultant I am largely interested in finding workable solutions for consrevation and industry and most of my work currently centres on issues with birds and wind farms, particularly the threatened New Zealand falcon. Previously I have worked in the UK, Mauritius and Madagascar with marsh harriers, Mauritius kestrel and Madagascar fish eagle. (Editor's note: The photo of Richard was taken shortly after a close encounter with a New Zealand Falcon).
