Fábio Raposo do Amaral

Fábio Raposo do Amaral

I was born in Santos (Brazil), but moved to São Paulo to pursue a carreer in biology. I earned a PhD. in Genetics and Evolutionary Biology from Universidade de São Paulo in 2008. I´m fascinated by birds (especially Neotropical species), evolution and taxonomy. I worked with raptor molecular systematics during my PhD., and currently I´m a postdoctoral researcher at Universidade de São Paulo. My current project deals with the evolutionary processes that shaped the avian diversity of a complex and fascinating biome, the Atlantic Forest, using as models two species of endemic antbirds.
