Reared in Colorado. Graduated 1969 B.S. Brigham Young University; 1973 Ph.D. University of Montana. Lived in 16 states, traveled in >50 nations. Focused research on birds of prey (>100 publications), cranes (>50 publications), and other species (>20 publications). Focused on research in western U.S., Mongolia, Argentina, Siberia, and Alaska.
