   Biography

I am a research wildlife biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey at the Minnesota Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. I received a B.A. in Biology and Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnestoa, an M.S. in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Ecology and Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

   Research Interests

My research interests are focused on population ecology and conservation of wild birds. I have worked on involving raptor community ecology and the potential impacts of human activity on short-grass prairie raptor communities in eastern Colorado, bald eagle ecology along the Lake Superior shoreline, population ecology and habitat relations of forest-nesting raptors in the western Great Lakes region, and arctic peregrine falcons in Alaksa's North Slope. In addition, I have worked with a variety of other birds, including forest-nesting songbirds, subarctic-nesting waterfowl and shorebirds, American woodcock, and sandhill cranes. My research focuses on questions related to ecology and conservation, and the potential impacts of human activity and management.
